Voters here strongly criticize Mexicos efforts to stop illegal immigration and drug trafficking and like President Trumps idea of using tariffs to get the Mexicans to toughen up.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 46% of Likely U.S. Voters favor the use of U.S. tariffs on Mexican goods to force Mexico to strengthen its efforts to stop illegal immigration and illegal drugs from entering this country. Forty percent (40%) oppose the presidents tariff strategy, while 14% are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
The president earned a monthly job approval of 48% in May, down two points from 50% in April which was his highest monthly rating since February 2017, his first full month in office.
