I did not see gub’s post until after mine was sent.
My remark about “solid Biblical grounds” was necessary because much of the blowback the pastor received was probably emotion-based.
The unhappy concregants can argue with the pastor, but they cannot argue with a clear dictum from Scripture.

.@PlattDavid, who led his congregation at @McLeanBible in praying over Pres. @realDonaldTrump on Sunday, is catching flak from members who said they were hurt by this. I cant imagine anyone being hurt by their pastor praying for the President in obedience to Gods Word! 1/3
