As you well know, churches are full of imperfect people.
Can you imagine the ideological split of this congregation in the DC area.
Yes, we all follow one Lord and one Gospel, but, humanly, we all have opinions, especially political ones!!!
Pastor Platt explained that he was on a Biblical basis to pray for a leader who shows up on his doorstep for prayer.
I am sure there were some in he congregation(s) that are opposed to Trump, but yet even they are commanded by Scripture to prayer for their leaders.
Some probably worried about whether the church would be seen as endorsing a politician, even though that was not the case here with Trump(other politicians maybe).
This was a tremendous, God-inspired once in a lifetime opportunity, and the pastor, on extremely short notice, recalled the Scripture and the command, and did the right thing.
Those in his congregation who have a problem, need to check in with Boss about it.
I agree with you, have no problem what so ever with a pastor praying for our President and government leaders.
Was this post meant for me or for gubamyster?
Exactly. If so e of those people think the President is doing things wrong, shouldn’t he need their prayers even more?
