Judge Sullivans decision to name his own prosecutor was highly unusual but was explicitly provided for in the rules of federal procedure. Under the rules, Mr. Madigan said, a judge may choose his own prosecutor for contempt investigations.
Very interesting article and I see what you are pointing out. The Judge seems to know his rights and he pulls out all the stops to get what he wants. Thanks for the link I appreciate it.

I always thought Sullivan getting the Flynn case was good fortune for Flynn after Contreras recused.
That remains to be seen.
