Subject: Travel pool 7 bilat

The two spoke for about 17 minutes with translators. Mostly welcoming each other and recounting the weekend. Trump took a couple of questions from Jeff Mason and said he welcomes Abe trying to negotiate w Iran given their very good relationship. He said the security threat cited for potential auto tar rigs: “it’s all a balance sheet.”
Abe said he wanted a “very candid and productive discussion.”
Trump said “I personally think lots of good things will come with North Korea. I may be right. I may be wrong.”
“There’s good respect built between the US and North Korea. We’ll see what happens.”
Tradewise, probably a deal in August he said.
Trump acted as if he were hosting, thanking everyone for coming several times.
These are partial. More to come.
