There, POTUS and FLOTUS will participate in a state call and welcome ceremony with Naruhito, the new Japanese emperor, and Masako, the empress. POTUS will be the first visiting leader to meet with them.
So here we go: The motorcade left the hotel at 9:17 am JST/ 8:17 pm ET.
Your pooler did not get a glimpse of POTUS and FLOTUS departing the hotel, just the Beast leaving, but things in the motorcade seem to be going well so far.
