No he isn't. At least Elton isn't a hypocrite. There isn't a bigger hypocrite on the planet than Springsteen.
Sasha Baron Cohen wanted to play Freddie, and he probably would have been even better than Rami Malek, but he insisted on showing more the gay side of Freddie, and the other members of Queen wouldn't have it.
Is anyone surprised? Next, it’ll be little children and goats. There is no shame in Hollyweird.
I don’t go to movies anyway except for Rifftracks and classics by Fathom/TCM.
Funniest post of the day!
The real money in music comes from Touring and now that they have Adam Lambert maybe they are a bit more protective.
Not sure what difference it makes. By now everyone knows he was gay.
I mean Rob Halford came out, and nobody cared, and Metal fans tend to be the most hetero-normative people on the planet. As long as he just shut up and sang, it’s all good.
I liked Bohemian Rhapsody, too. But I liked Mercury going in. Elton John, not in the least.
They might have been more concerned Sasha would be more accurate in the portrayal of Freddie as a jerk..which supposedly he was.
there is a line in Rocketman where Elton says he started being a c##t in 1975 and forgot to stop. David Furnish says he is a monster in the movie. And he was in real life.
Queen probably didn’t want that kind of stuff being shown about Freddie.
Going dirty....
btw, David Furnish father was a Director at Bristol Meyers . So he clearly came from a successful family. Maybe that gave him the background to get Elton John’s finances in order because they were a mess. Elton says he is Elton’s Yoko Ono.
Fame will do that to a person. Kind of ironic that in the last 20 or so years of his life, David Bowie turned out to be the most normal of the bunch.
Susan Boyle does a lovely job of Keith Richards song Wild Horses. When I listen to it I am amazed he is the writer..and marvel that the dude is still alive!

BR was a good film. Though I’m not a big Queen fan I could tell it was an authorized version of events. It’s worth a look.

Well Rami Malek will always be “Snafu”.

Love Elton John. He wrote the music and Bernie Taupin wrote the lyrics. Great team.
As the decidedly non-PC band from Detroit, the Meatmen, put it: “We’re not tooling for anus!!!”.
