Vietnamese Robusta is about as good a cup of coffee as you can get and it is only more expensive than the Vietnamese Arabica which is very like Kona which used to sell for 100 a pound before the VN competition drove it down. You can get the VN Arabica at Dollar Tree at 6 oz for a buck in the Mountain High brand. Spending 75 for a cup of coffee is merely showing that you are very wealthy and do not choose to touch your lips to something that mere mortals would drink. VN coffee is grown in the best conditions there are outside like those in Ethiopia and Hawaii and is cheap because there is so much of it exported. it is also why instant coffee now is much less harsh than it used to be. Same for cheap Decaf. Both are made from the cheapest beans available and now have a large admixture of VN.
Thank you for the message info on VN coffee. I had assumed most of the mass market instant was Brazilian. Could the VN get into the stevia business, as Paraguay doesnt make enough, and Id rather not buy from the Chicoms? (VN is only a little better in ways, but not nearly as hegemonistic.)
