I was just thinking today about the “hush fund” that Congress used to settle claims by staffers/interns who complain of sexual harassment, discrimination etc. by congress critters (total of $17 million paid out over the years). Congress was asked to tell tax payers where the money went (who was paid off for charges of harassing or discriminating against whom) and Congress in effect responded, “...go pound sand, we’re not gonna tell you.”
The Big Picture: Just give us your money which we’ll use to pay off those we mistreat and don’t ask. If you show up on the steps having collected 10 millions signatures, we’re not gonna bother to show up. We’ll summon you when we need you...just keep the tax payer money flowing our way.
Here’s a link to that story - I see several news agencies talked about it for about a week and there are no recent listings per a casual Internet search (MSM dropped it like a hot potato, “Well, they said no. What’s for lunch?”).

Interesting statistics in that article. It shows the average payout to female Congress staffers for rape or a good hair sniffing is $65,000 bucks a pop. Perhaps we could save money for the taxpayers by just hiring hookers for the Democrats?
