I understand completely!

We have a rustic glassed in sun porch.
Out there is a massive old sofa that I got at an auction for 5 bucks because nobody wanted it.

It is over stuffed, and a dusty rose color, and when you lay down on it it is SOOOOOOOOOO comfortable that you just drift away. With the windows open (and screened in) you can hear the birds sing, chipmunks and squirrels chittering, and if it’s raining , you can hear the patter on the metal roof.

If you open the windows the right way, you can create a cross draft that has all the nice smells of the forest that surround us.

I have some old brass floor lamps that I put very low wattage bulbs in just to make it cozy, and I escape there whenever I can!

Sounds delightful. Wish I lived closer, I’d come visit.

I too have a very old brass floor lamp on my porch. I had to paint it years ago and have it re-wired. (I found it at an auction) I was never able to find a lamp shade for it until 2 years ago. It has a center light..and three single lights. A California company makes lamp shades to order. They do a very good job.
