Those that survive need to be aware that the left will try to use such a disaster as an excuse to suspend the constitution and usurp power. I dont think so. The left is, to a large extent, made possible by a civilization that gives a large proportion of people the luxury to not have to struggle to survive. This only became the case in the Industrial Age. In the case of a super volcano eruption that kills a large number immediately and plunges the rest of the world into a small ice age, the immediate concern would be survival. I am not certain that the culture of uselessness encouraged by socialists would survive when everyone must focus on survival.

Yes - if/when Yellowstone goes off again it will have global consequences. Not only will most of the U.S. crops go dead for many years (covered in a foot of ash), but the huge amount of dust in the air will cause REAL global climate change (cooling) that will probably wipe out crops elsewhere for several years.
Add in the idea that our enemies (China?) might think this would be an opportune time to attack us (And we would strike them with what we had left) - yeah - it will be basic survival of the entire planet I think.

I agree with you, but you fail to understand that a Yellowstone eruption would devastate some of the most conservative areas of the nation, leaving the west and east coasts unaffected.....all those liberals would have a massive majority.
