My standard reply is, “If I felt any better, I’d be at home, in bed with a nurse.”

I very expressively say something like, “I’m excited about life, how ‘bout you!”
That would mean more to you if you could see me hobble up to a door, which people open out of courtesy to a crooked big man with a crooked little stick, and then I surprise them with such an animated reply.
