Greenland not green, but was green before climate change a few thousand years ago?

Let's imagine ourselves as Vikings visiting the place during the Medieval Warm Period. If it got warmed up a bit, then you would have glacial runoff water keeping things moist, and the summer days would have been long. That would have made the coasts VERY green.

Indeed. And The Atlantic has form, in terms of publishing colourful scare stories. Here is an example from 2015, predicting the unfreezing of the Arctic, which did not happen:

It was warm enough so that parts of it could be farmed.

‘If Greenland were suddenly transported to the central United States, it would be a very bad day for about 65 million people, who would be crushed instantly.’

A little less drastically, if California would pull out of the United States and become a Canadian province, the average annual temperature of Canada would be increased without even needing global warming.

It looks to me like one is the same as the other.

Personally I'd use a postage scale for accuracy. One handful at a time or you might miss something.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volcanology_of_Iceland

from link:

The volcano system in Iceland that started activity on August 17, 2014, and ended on February 27, 2015, is Bárðarbunga.
The volcano in Iceland that erupted in May 2011 is Grímsvötn.

The volcanoes of Iceland include a high concentration of active ones due to Iceland’s location on the mid-Atlantic Ridge, a divergent tectonic plate boundary, and its location over a hot spot. The island has 30 active volcanic systems, of which 13 have erupted since the settlement of Iceland in AD 874.[1]

Of these 30 active volcanic systems, the most active/volatile is Grímsvötn.[2] Over the past 500 years, Iceland’s volcanoes have erupted a third of the total global lava output.[3]

Suppose one were so incapable of critical thought that you accepted every worrisome ecological event as the direct result of fossil fuels. Do you really think the Democrats, who couldn’t even manage a cash for clunkers program, would have any prayer of counteracting the behavior of everyone in the world?

Good Point!
