>>>I’ve read that Yankee was originally Jankee. Jan was Dutch for John. Kaas Dutch for cheese. The British in the colonies used as a derogatory term for the Dutch. Essentially calling them Johnny Cheese.<<<

See, that all fits with the flipped over world where curses becoming blessings:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheesehead

A free-spirited people milk this kind of stuff for all its worth!

Those other folks known for cheese, and wine? The French, meaning “free man”.

The traditional Jewish saying involving mysteries of the universe is that

“When the wine goes in, the secret comes out.”

People say, “Would you like cheese with that whine?” The origins may go back waaay further back than people might suspect.

Käse in point, the Philistines and the army of Israel were at an impasse for 40 days before David arrived to shake things up. He saw a problem in need of a solution. Obviously victory wasn’t coming by way of business as usual.

What was that commander doing? He must have been lamenting his predicament, wringing his hands you have to figure.

Anyway, just providing a little backdrop to David being dispatched to the scene:

1 Samuel 17
16 And the Philistine drew near morning and evening, and presented himself forty days.
17 And Jesse said unto David his son, Take now for thy brethren an ephah of this parched corn, and these ten loaves, and run to the camp to thy brethren;
18 ***And carry these ten cheeses unto the captain of their thousand***, and look how thy brethren fare, and take their pledge.

;)

That’s what “Jesse” instructed his son David. The captain needed a lot of cheese to go with his whine.

More “cheesy” puns. Nobody gets out alive without having fun.

This is going to be good. The Master has a plan that’s going to come flying out of left field. It will serve to destroy the wisdom of the wise.

Americans as Vikings, with cheese helmets. I like it!
