No, I just relied too much on the Google Map which labels the mainland as “Newfoundland and Labrador” and doesn’t label the island at all.

Labrador was a part of Newfoundland, which joined Canada in 1949. The name of the province of Newfoundland was changed to Newfoundland and Labrador a few years back.

Newfoundland is the large long haired big furry canine dog. Typically all black or Black and white. It is a member of the AKC Working Group. It was bred to be a companion dog for fishermen working in the North Atlantic.

Labrador, also known as the Labrador Retriever is a member of the AKC Sporting Group. It has an oily double coat that comes in black, yellow or brown. It has webbed feet and was also bred as a companion for fishermen working in the North Atlantic.
