Commons Speaker John Bercow is facing mounting anger over his refusal to allow Donald Trump to address Parliament during the US Presidents state visit to Britain this summer.
Mr Bercows decision to decline the privilege because of his private objections to the Presidents style of leadership comes as Downing Street and Buckingham Palace step up preparations for the visit, which is expected to coincide with the 75th anniversary of D-Day in June.
Defence Minister Tobias Ellwood led the criticism of Mr Bercows decision yesterday, arguing that the special relationship was greater than any one individual.
He said: We should leverage the US Presidents state visit, including the opportunity formally to address Parliament.
