I never had kids, so I need some help. More and more I am seeing lies about vaccines. People are blaming anti-vaxers for diseases most likely caused by illegals not Americans.

Anyway, if you vaccinate your kid and I don't. My kid gets a case of say measles. Would your vaccinated kid not be protected from the measles my kid has?

What am I missing?

the concept of ‘herd immunity’ until recently kept non-vaccinated fairly safe. Most kids were vaccinated so the virus wasn’t rampant.

Now, with more and more un-vaxx-ed, MY vaxxed kid won’t get it but since measles is so infectious, it will run through the un-vaxxed like a fire-storm.

My vaccinated kid would probably not get the virus. In addition to jeopardizing the health of your unvaccinated child, the health and lives of people who have medical conditions keep them from tolerating vaccines is at stake.
