Mark Steyn, on Tucker Carlson, talking about the Notre Dame fire. To Mark the soul — the “transcendent purpose” — of the church has been gone for a long time, and the talk of rebuilding it brings up the question, “For what purpose?”
Tonight apparently on Tucker's last segment.
Holding up Red Castle Flag.
And it was a great question.
FATHER GOD,
May France's Christians return to their first Love, JESUS CHRIST. May beauty replace the ashes of the Notre Dame fire, and may the flames of revival fire spread throughout France, Europe, and the world.
In JESUS' Name we pray. Amen.

There are still plenty of faithful Catholics in France. There were twatter videos of a large crowd of people outside the burning Notre Dame some distance, singing hymns, saying the rosary, many on their knees, and praying.

I missed Tucker last night. That is a good question worth considering. Beautiful architecture and a reminder of the faith of their fathers. If rebuilding ND would stir an awakening it would be worth all the cost but only God can bring that about and He needs no grand cathedral. Interesting to ponder.
