I hope people remember this longer than Alec Baldwin calling for murder of Republicans on Late Night with Conan O’Brien in 1998.
“We would stone (Hyde) to death, and we would go to their homes, and we’d kill their wives and their children. We would kill their families,” exclaimed Baldwin, according to a transcript printed in the New York Post. Of course it was all dismissed as a big joke... like when he called his daughter a worthless slut in a recorded phone call... we all laughed ourselves silly.
AND NBC allowed the bit on the air even though they knew of it in advance.
Incidentally, I broke that story on FR following the incident, and Brit Hume of FNC picked it up Sunday night and asked NBC for a copy of the tape... they refused, naturally. FNC ran a poor quality web copy of the incident and it hit the news.
