The stuff is called Vantablack and is made up of carbon nanotubes. Some has been sold for military and industrial applications but it is reputed to be ridiculously expensive. It is also licensed for artistic use to one person on the planet.

Another artist took exception and created Black 2.0 which is available to the public at reasonable cost.
