The thing that I do not understand is that, by international law, if migrants do not ask for asylum in the first country they come to, they are not entitled to such status. Perhaps that is Trump's new strategy: NO ONE IS DUE ASYLUM STATUS - send them back to Mexico or the Bermuda Triangle or wherever.

I didnt know that. Judges are generally elected, of course, but in a crisis it seems reasonable that these experienced border officers could be inducted by the POTUS to serve as judges, in processing and fingering the gangs and traffickers, from the real refugees, from the gamers of the system. No?
