All moslems were something else originally. The history of Islam is one of forced “conversion”, so almost all moslems alive today are descendants of Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, animists, etc.
Also, importantly, the Zoroastrians of Persia, a religion that still exists underground in Iran and parts of India.
At the round table talk in CA a couple of days ago Trump appeared to be very serious and disgusted with the invasion and told the BP people there, repeatedly “You don’t have to let them in”.
Oh yes, Zoroastrians too, in India they’re called Parsis. There is a movement in India where people who are moslems can go through a ceremony and revert back to the religion of their ancestors. Last I read a lot are doing this.

Mohammad and his small band of followers were not having success converting people, he told them to go to Medina and convert the Christians and Jews there. His followers had very little success and came back despondent. So he told them to wage battle against the inhabitants of Medina and that worked much better; the ones who they couldn’t forcibly convert they killed, and others ran away.
Then Mohammedan moved his entourage to Medina, and the new method of spreading Islam by the sword was born, and continued to this day.

I personally think the brackets are like the “sights” on a gun or other weapon system. Like in Top Gun where they’re trying to fire on the enemy plane. I believe the brackets mean “targeted.” Ymmv.

I read an excellent column the other day by Ted Noel on the American Thinker that included the following statement:
“The U.S. is Mexico’s largest trading partner. As a courtesy, most trucks bringing goods from Mexico to the U.S. are functionally waved through the border check points. That doesn’t need to be the case. If our inspectors were to be just a bit more careful, an awful lot of goods would back up in a hurry. Yes, it would pinch some of our businesses that source in Mexico, but the pain would be far worse on the south side.”

That’s what I love about India. As I’ve said before, total religious freedom requires tolerating a lot of crazy cults. Not that the Zoros are a crazy cult. I don’t know much about it but from what I’ve read it was rather theologically sound.
