Penny and I went on our first hike of the season today.

I chose a new trail near the North River, as I like to explore new places. This trail was only accessible by going deep into a neighborhood and parking on the street, so there was nobody else there. The trail was not very long, but was very easy, with some nice views of the river.

However, the constant roar of traffic on nearby Route 3 (the connector between Boston and Cape Cod) permeated the entire length of the trail. It spoiled it for me, and, in the future, I will choose trails that are further away from the main drag.

Penny didn’t seem to mind, but I did.

I have a similar dog walking path that is too close to traffic noise. It’s safety away from the road but the roaring trucks wreck the walk.

There’s a state park near there that I should buy a yearly sticker for, and walk on their paths.

Have a good evening!
