Moreover though, Chamberlain came back from the meeting with Hitler, waved that piece of paper around and said peace in our time to the media, then went straight to the cabinet and said we gotta prepare for war. In other words, it was less about Poland and more about realizing they were going to have to face the Nazi war machine sooner or later.
I wish they hadn’t portrayed Chamberlain as such a wimp in the history books they gave us back when, can’t imagine what they say now.
