I use deodorant soap, Coast, but anything with the strong scent would work.

I have used Irish Spring for over 25+ years. The deer, rabbits, chipmunks, etc hate it and stay away. Doesn’t help with birds though as you say. Also cayenne pepper the birds are completely unaffected by the pepper but the squirrels, chipmunks and deer can’t stand it.

How do you put out the Cayenne pepper?

I really hope the soap works on squirrels also, because I have some almond and hazelnut trees that will probably be productive in a few years. I can’t wait to harvest my own nuts!

We use Irish Spring also. I buy cheap nylons at dollar store and make little nets to tie on trees.
