This may sound unkind, but I share the same misgivings about Rush.
I have listened to him since 1988.
But Rush never seemed to risk anything for the cause.
He had radio, TV, books, personal appearances, but when our country was in mortal danger in 2004,2008,2012 and 2016, he never broke a sweat trying to fend off the enemies of the Republic.
Especially in 2016, when even Stevie Wonder could see we had to get Trump in over Hillary, he was non-plussed about it all.
I realized Rush is just an entertainer.
He likes to run to the head of the parade once he knows the parade is a hit.
While Rush’s show is said by him to be the show prep for the media, Free Republic has always been the show prep for Rush, in my opinion.
But he could hardly ever acknowledge our existence, as if we were Nazis or something.
Rush has made a very good living off of conservatives, but it has cost him nothing.
He avoids controversy, and is not a counter puncher like our President.
Many times I realize I am more informed than he is on a topic—thanks to FR and the Trump Train.
So, I view him as merely an entertainer, who entertains conservatives, and makes a boatload of money off of them.
But I’ll pass sharing a foxhole with him.
