Straight-up question. Why would anybody care enough about this c-actor to stir up the situation and spend nearly have a million bucks? Even if a person follows the money, where does it go and why?
Why would Obamas be involved? What the heck is in it for them? Ms. Foxx is compromised already. Smollett is done for (right?). Rahm is out there condemning.

Here’s my very uneducated guess. Barack has a favorite for 2020. Maybe it’s Michelle. Maybe it’s Cory Booker. But if Smollett goes to trial, it could drag into 2020 and make Democrats in general look silly.
So it’s best if the Smollett case just quietly goes away.
But then Mayor Rahm Emanuel goes on TV and stirs everything up. I would not have expected that. What does Rahm have to gain by embarrassing DA Foxx? As you said, it’s very confusing.

The anti lynching legislation heals up Harris and Booker were pushing was languishing in Congress. Gayboi commits his fraud on the public and all of a sudden the legislation gets public attention and passed.
Barack is running interference for Heals up Harris AND Booker. It’s Baracks dream team.
Thanks. The business of messing with process behind the scenes (including the whole Russia-collusion thing, IRS, too) is a signature move of Obama’s. So I can see cleaning up a mess to clear the way for Booker, Harris, Michelle. Appreciate your insights.
