The “kids” (old enough to join the military) were fakers and liars, too. They knew full well they weren’t there based on their own merits.
Ask my nieces and nephews how “mean” I am to kids, which would be not at all.
How is it being mean to the kids by speaking the truth. Do you really think those girls didn’t know they weren’t rowers? I seriously doubt they didn’t know they were there on a lie. The parents are far more guilty of fraud and of teaching their daughters to lie and cheat, but the daughters went along with it.
