Since the indictments were filed in a DC court, and even swamps like DemocracticUnderground were bragging that POTUS' kids had been indicted, I believe he knew but they had to wait for due process. (Possible that the DS had also threatened him that such indictments existed). The AG wouldn't have a reason to pull indictments unless he had evidence that RR and Mueller were acting in bad faith.
Once Barr had time to take full stock of the ongoing investigations (see #2776), he was in a position to pull the indictments. Prior AG's didn't have the opportunity to question Mueller during an ongoing investigation without being accused of "obstruction".
Suppose the indictments on Trump’s kids were a ploy to placate and fool the DU and Swamp that Mueller’s investigation was serious about going after Trump? After all, are not sealed indictments meant to be secret yet, those swamp critters seemed to know of their existence.
IMO, Mueller and RR were in on the entire ruse to fool the Deep State. I don’t see how the investigations could have been kept under wraps without their participation.
I wonder if Nancy and Chuck’s recent letter to POTUS was less about “We won’t impeach if you don’t DECLAS” and more about “We’re concerned about the way in which impeachment and the INDICTMENTS about to be released against your children might further divide the country.........not to mention your plans for declassifying sensitive documents...”
Carrot and stick - withdrawing impeachment and brandishing indictments at the same time. All in the name of bipartisanship, of course...
