Haven’t looked into it...there have been issues with pilots being unfamiliar with the new “MCAS” trim system (i.e. “Lion Air”), on the other hand Ethiopian Air has a very poor maintenance record and I heard one witness (keep in mind eyewitnesses are notably unreliable) say “smoke from the tail area...” (APU problem/bomb?). Flight data recorder & CVR will help a lot in the investigation.
Thanks for additional. I copied part of a UK Mirror article with an eye witness saying the bit about smoke, maybe you read it on the thread. I can imagine that Ethiopian Air has a poor maintenance record. (shudder)
