Do you live in a state that has high SALT (State and local taxes)? The president made those taxes, paid to those states, less deductible on the fed. level.
You know, the low SALT states were subsidizing the graft and corruption and waste of the New York, NJ, CA... politicians. The high taxes you pay to their machinery didn't hurt so much because you could reduce it from the federal side of the ledger. If you do live there, that is where you need to direct your anger.
What is your retort?
Nice.
not just a SALT state issue.
No longer can deduct the “miscellaneous itemized deduction” portion for home office business expenses, which effectively takes away the Home Office deduction for a lot of us, which, in our case, makes the difference between being able to itemize or not.
Would you two stop your virtue-signaling! There were items in the Trump Tax Cut that weren’t good for some Americans, and we reserve the right to bitch about it!
If you own your home, no mortgage deduction. Use your home equity to obtain a loan, no longer able to deduct the interest. Have a fee-only investment advisor, boom, you can no longer deduct his entire fee for managing your investments. Deductions for moving used to be deducible, they aren’t anymore; same for unreimbursed expenses for
continuing education, required medical tests and memberships required to keep your job, and there are plenty more.
I still would vote for Trump, 1,000 times, if I could. I look upon the 2018 tax cut bill as revenge of the GOPe, “The Hillary Tax”.
