Maybe Illinois went Standard time ie Winter time?

I never finished.

Illinois experimented with full time daylight savings time.
It didn’t last long.
It was determined to be too dangerous as it was too dark for the kids going to school.
they went back to regular daylight savings time.

That's exactly what they did.
I dug a little deeper and it was way farther back than i thought.

start and end dates
1974 Sunday, January 6, 2:00 am Sunday, October 27, 2:00 am
1975 Sunday, February 23, 2:00 am Sunday, October 26, 2:00 am
