Moved to a Confederate cemetery. That seems to be about the most dignified and respectful disposition.
Civil Wars, and wars where significant war crimes or human rights violation occur, take a lot longer to lay to rest. Survivors remain for about 80 years, and significant animosity can be passed on to children, and even grand children.
To some degree, this may also be an indicator of turning a corner on the post-war reconciliation.
