You folks are confused about the relationship of Denver's (civilian) Stapleton Airport and Lowry (no "e") AFB.

Both Stapleton and Lowry AFB have now been converted into Denver urban sprawl, but I graduated from a classified USAF technical school on Lowry in the early 1960s, when it was still a USAF Air Training Command base.

No question about that date; I married my wife nearly 58 years ago, and we newly-weds lived in Denver while I was attending school at Lowry...)

Stapleton (its old control tower is still visible [at Lat. 39.760656°, Long. 104.892033°] on Google Earth) was three (3) miles north of Lowry.
