There is only one group actually responsible for what happened the other night.

I'm ALWAYS a fan of DON'T BLAME THE VICTIM. Always. You are so right. There is only ONE set of people to blame.

I hated so much to see all the division and arguing that ensued THAT WAS ALL CAUSED BY THEM.

I hated to see people opus out because of WHAT THEY DID.

I hated to see the aftermath and could only imagine them laughing as they read it.

I sometimes, and I think we all do, see a "perfect world" of how things SHOULD be done. We think we can stop these trolls if we just get everybody to react to them a certain way.

I thought I had the answer, with my "let Bagster handle it" approach. But that would take 100% percent compliance and that just ain't gonna happen. I thought that the mods and/or Jim Robinson's own words and rules would handle it, but the trolls either haven't got that word, or carry on despite.

At this point, and I always have, to be honest, realized that, at the beginning of each new thread, there will be a time of festival. So, we either react to them, and risk prolonging festival, or we don't.

Lots of people don't like festival. Lots of people don't like ignoring them. Two different philosophies that will never the twain shall meet. THAT is the reality. It's just not good that those realities try to force the other reality to change.

What's the answer? Dunno. Maybe to just accept that certain things are the way they are, be calm, and "cultivate our garden", as Voltaire said in "Candide". That's one of my fave quotes of all time and helps me deal with stress and life's troubles.

So, I just sit back and don't let trolls bother me and go about my business. Though I swear I'm an adrenaline junkie from way back and do love a good fight.

Anyway, that's my two cents and all I'm gonna say about it. Even this post will entertain the trolls and any further conversation will let them know they are being successful, which I also hate to see.

We're here to do a thing. Let 's just do it.

Thanks for the response. I don’t think anybody opera’d out because of the trolls. We really need to be honest. It was our own that let our fellow q freepers down. True story.

Actually the only group that I am holding accountable is Free Republic itself. We all know who these trolls are, yet they never get banned. If someone should post a q post on the main forum, they swoop in like flying monkeys. How does this constantly happen? Then, they bring in Windflyer for the “wrap up smear” where he calls us all “cultists”. Of course this smear allows the mod to pull the entire thread. Of course Windflyer isn’t banned. Can you imagine if one of us went to the freeper cantene thread and called them all freeper cultists? The last 3 threads ended exactly like this. coincidence?

I contacted someone about Jocko being banned. I was concerned because the last posts by Jocko sounded very sad and lonely. I didn’t get as much as a response. I have never before contacted anyone associated with FR. this was a first after 22 years a member. And that was the way I was treated. Couldn’t even be bothered with a response.

I just think everybody needs to start blaming the right group of people. That is not us, the people who respond to trolls, or the freepers who are constantly allowed to be trolls. This troll fest can be stopped if FR wants to stop it.
