I didn’t know weight loss would be a big concern to many firefighters. I suppose it only makes sense, they are usually big and athletic people to begin with, and they are encouraged to eat a lot of meat. As one get’s older, the metabolism often slows, so it becomes harder to stay within weight expectations. Their jobs and ability to be promoted, depend on it.

too many people think that Yay I can eat meat, but consuming more than 2,000 calories of meat a day is just as bad as eating more than 2,000 calories of doughnuts or twinkies.

100-120g of protein per day no more than 2000 calories per day is a good guideline.
