Combat!

I’m rewatching Sgt. Saunders & crew on YouTube and I’m now into Season 5, filmed in color. The older episodes were all black & white. Great stuff, if you don’t mind Saunders’ bottomless magazines for his Tommy gun, or Germans who get a four-round burst from a bolt-action rifle.

My binge-watching was triggered by news of the death of Pierre Jardins, aka “Cage” from the show. I think Kirby is the only “regular” still remaining.

When I was a child, my father would take me to the county airport to watch the planes. Well, one day Cage was there - in uniform - handing out pictures and signing autographs! He was in town for some sort of promotion.

I still have that signed picture of him around somewhere.

Conlan Carter, who joined in the second season as "Doc" is still alive. He's 84.
