The Senate signed the bill in December, soon after Harris inserted language that added ACTUAL OR PERCEIVED GENDER, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, GENDER IDENTITY, OR DISABILITY to the original list of ACTUAL OR PERCEIVED RACE, COLOR, RELIGION, OR NATIONAL ORIGIN as federally protected classes.

Now that "lynching" is defined as "two or more persons who willfully cause bodily injury to someone" in a protected class, will this be the proverbial camel's nose under the tent?
