The irony is that if Jussy had been a straight white male jumped by some blacks, the police would have just filed it and moved on. But because he is a gay black celebrity blaming Trump supporters, the cops had to go all-in investigating it, and it blew up in his face.
Good point, it was the very “politically charged” aspects which ensured an intensive police investigation. ALso, Jussie was nowhere near as clever as he imagined, it was a really stupid hoax.
