That said, cops like the ones in this scenario shake the publix faith. Raiding the wrong home, shooting family pets, killing innocent people based off of lies or failed info, no knock warrants, swatting, overzealous/beyond force necessary arrests...This is just not supposed to happen.

Twenty years ago, I would have agreed with that 100%. But now, no. Cops used to see themselves as peace officers. Now they’re law enforcement officers.
Police work is more challenging and dangerous these days. For sure. But too many cops use that as a reason - consciously or subconsciously - to routinely step over the line.
So how many cops are “good decent folks” these days? Based on my personal observations, I’d say maybe 1 out of 3. And I take no pleasure in saying that.
