The Corps of Engineers are really good at doing things they have already done before.

I had to oversee them designing a consolidated satellite engineering facility on a limited footprint. It was interesting explaining to them why the back face of the facility had to run EXACTLY east-west, why some of the antennas had to be put where they were, why that giant oak the base CG liked had to be cut down, and why ever single piece of structural steel in the building had to be grounded to the SAME ground plane.

It made for some interesting meetings but they ended up doing a really good job of the design.
