Sorry John. I meant to respond to greeneyes post as a general info bit for everyone. Not meant to address your personal situation. We all do what we can but we have to start when we start. The main thing, in my opinion, is to avoid major population centers. I hate crowds anyway and I’ve always been a wanderer. Financially, debt is the killer. took me decades to figure that one out and a decade to get out of the trap.
Fair winds
No problem! We had a real catch 22 a while back. Always paid cash; had no debt. Lived in a very rural farmhouse that we rented. Then it burned down along with everything in it. Believe it or not, it was rough getting a mortgage when you don’t owe anyone anything. LOL.
Good news...God provides. Bad news...we now have a mortgage.

As true as this is, the ability to ‘Bug Out’ safely to an alternate sight if the SHTF and survive is paramount. If we truly have a SHTF moment in America, good luck on banking institutions collecting from people that #Walkaway and leave the grid.
Those of us that desire to live honorable and Godly lives strive to be responsible citizens, but if we truly experience the SHTF moment,” Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar’s.”
MAGA!
