A road builder I dealt with was bought out a few years ago by the Hosers, eh. I quit dealing with them.
I quit buying Bobcat skidloaders and equipment when they were bought out by the South Koreans.
It’s how I roll. Trump is just following my lead.
That is fine because it is your choice.
However, requiring infrastructure components be only made in the US inherently causes the costs of materials and costs of construction to go up. Being a commercial developer Trump knows this.
Many construction items being used throughout the US are made in Canada.
This is similar to lumber, plywood, osb that was used in Iraq, Afghanistan by the military had to come from a source with a US grade stamp. So, all the European lumber mills got grade stamps from the WCLIB( West Coast Lumber Inspection Bureau). In addition the vendors selling to the government established corporations with female minority owners in name only. This checks all the government boxes. Woman owned minority company selling US grade stamped lumber.
So, from my personal experience. This made the lumber more expensive than just ordering it from any contractor supplying product subject to US lumber standards. If Trump was building one of his hotels, that is what he would do.
