Lived in Western WA for 11 years, always got a huge laugh when Seattle went belly=up on the rare snowy day because natives have no clue how to drive in it.

Now I’m in Eastern Washington, where it actually gets cold and snows every winter. We’re in for about two weeks of seriously rotten weather. Today was our good day with sunshine and temps about 11 - 18 along with massive blowing and no help from the city in clearing streets. .I’m within crawling distance of three stores, including Trader Joe. So what did I stock up on?

Brandy, coffee, protein powder, kittie litter (spoiled rotten girl only uses Feline Pine from Trader), gluten-free cookies. I have a freezer full of veggies and meat, enough for at least 2 weeks. If the power goes out, frozen stuff can sit on the porch. Got good at this a few years ago when power was out for 9 days and temps were never above 20.

Tip for you... go to the feed store and get equine pine pellet litter for horse stalls. MUCH cheaper than Feline Pine and it’s the exact same stuff.

Good for you!!

Do you have a wood stove? Just curious what your heat source is, for these days of 20º weather, without power.

TIA.
