Caesars scepter wouldn't have any significance to a dim bulb like Nanners, there are quite a few things that hearken back to the Republic of Rome and before. That there actually is a House Rep Mace which is pretty cool, she probably thinks it is hers.

I am familiar with the statue of Zeus by Phidias, and the first time I saw this, that was cool.

Don’t forget she is an Italian. She might think she is Cesar. Never underestimate your enemy. On the other hand she sure plays the dimwitted ditz really well.

Yeah, I think she likes to make leetle teeny tiny demonstrations of her power, like when she was baarreeely tapping the gavel to call the house to order for the SOTU so this would probably appeal to her. See, I’m just a sweet lil old speaker of the house, but I DO have this big gavel if I need it.
