The water is down a bit BUT it’s raining raining raining so it will be much higher by evening. The conservation officers have a new air boat. Thank God. Sheriff department has had 2-3 water rescues a day that they can more easily get to with the bassboat the sheriffs office use on the river.
People don’t realize what usually is a couple inches deep is over a yard or more of fast moving currents.
Two small communities and an elementary school completely surrounded by water. People are flooded in who can usually just take “the long way round”.
We can get out and probably will once the fog lifts. Then three more days of rain. Pray for the sheriff department and conservation officers (most are former students of mine). who are risking their own lives to save STUPID people. (Who weren’t ).

Good morning...Glad to hear from you. I figured it was really scary there....Living in a valley makes life challenging doesn't it! The restaurants in Jeff must be close to the river....REAL close...as its probably almost at their back doors. Our storm sewers can't hold all of this rain. Most of our water goes out through Blackiston Mill area and then into the Ohio. It will be backing up too soon....and the family's Body Shop is next to the creek that goes into the mill area.

We aren’t planning on going anywhere. If we need to get out will stay on highways. No back roads. OTOH both US 11-31 have water in Road Many accidents on I-65 both N & S because of contruction and icy bridges.

We are actually up a ways on a knob. But must travel through flat land and across tributaries to get to small town and the “real” small town ! Both have areas that flood because they were built near the river.

This is a good tweet by POTUS. Maybe some on the left who are not so radical will take a look at themselves & wonder why they are so angry & what exactly are they resisting. Trump gives them a reason to not be so angry - “hey, we are having fun over here, come join us”. Hopefully some will realize how foolish they have been & all the bad things they have been told would happen, really haven’t happened.
