Or if there was a play that both characters were in. Look up "black face" in the theatre world, and you will see that for a time, it was perfectly ok for a white to play a black role...thus requireing the use of blackface, or shoe polish. Has anyone checked old playbills from the schools (high, college, medical) to see if there was a production of "Showboat ?
