but the Devo story began years earlier. they (Devo) were making some films and needed a soundtrack so they became the band for their films. And then they went to New York and David Bowie introduced them onstage and John Lennon went to see them (he was particularly struck by their ‘yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah’ intro to Uncontrolable Urge).
The Neil Young clip is from Human Highway after Devo were already known.

Outta sight, man! I was hoping someone would post that.
That will probably make some FReepers uptight though.

Well at least I hope he treats her better than Jackson Browne did.

Ive been led to believe that PCP (aka angel dust) was a problem in the black community Compton High, class of '72 here. I can vouch for that.
Acid was also on the menu, but only 'heads' did that.

I never understood why people were so excited by Jackson Browne. I never liked him and absolutely hated his music.

Our male correctional officers used to call the male youth as bros so the kids would feel more comfortable with them. I used to cringe every time they did. As as teen growing up on the wrong side of the tracks in that era, I remember that well. It used to grate on my ears when I heard cops trying to talk cool.

WTF was all that about? You mean, other than as an example of an apparently anachronistic use of the word "solid"?
Absolutely...
