Perhaps. But there is a problem: It has to come out of a police camera or be from a camera where the footage has already been gathered.

If they try to stick a camera up somewhere they have a chance of being disproven by another camera, and now they are facing a lot of MUCH MORE SERIOUS legal charges: Fabrication of Evidence, Influencing an Investigation, False or Misleading Information, even Perjury (if sworn to).
