“The Electoral College was established in Article II Section 1 of the Constitution. There are now 538 electors, of which a minimum of 270 of them are needed to officially elect the next president.”
*************
Originally each electoral vote in each state represented the wishes of a House District plus two votes for the wishes of the state (Senators appointed by the state).

Just as a House Member represents the wishes of their Congressional District, the elector represented the will of the population of the Congressional District.

Once states went to the winner take all standard, the voters in a Congressional District saw their choice thrown to the wind by the majority of voters statewide.

Political Parties found it easier to organize, and cheat in large urban areas (modern vote harvesting). Candidates for President no longer had to spread their appeal statewide, but could concentrate their efforts in areas where Party Bosses could “bring in the vote”.

Once the 17th Amendment was passed, a state’s legislature no longer decided how it’s two electoral votes would be cast. The will of those elected by each state house or senate district no longer mattered.

Currently each state determines how their electoral votes are cast. The movement for states to allocate their electoral votes to the candidate receiving the majority of votes nationwide is a further effort to change us from a Republic to a Democracy, exactly what our Founding Fathers tried to avoid.

Congressional and Presidential elections could be federalized and held on a different date than state or local elections (only Congressional and Presidential candidates would appear on the ballot), with the following stipulations:

1. When the Electoral College Meets to cast their ballots, each elector be required to cast their Electoral Ballot reflecting how the majority of voters in each Congressional District voted.

2. Citizens required to pre-register prior to election day, provide proof of citizenship, and present a government issued photo ID when voting, both absentee and on election day.

3. Only those providing legitimate reasons for not being able to vote on election day given an absentee ballot. (to be picked up in person, or delivered by the Supervisors of Election personnel- proof of identity provided when delivered). The major exception is for those in the military, and ballots must be provided in a timely manner so as to allow returned ballots to be registered prior to election day.

4. Scannable ballots be required and those ballots sealed and stored, once cast, until an election is certified, and for a year, following an election.

5. All voter rolls need to be cleaned up at least six months out from a federal election.

So true: If a column of Los Zetas lies in flaming ruins and they say It Was Those Dastardly American Operators That Did It, they just sound like fools.

I’m hopeful that the current President of Mexico is somewhat on board with us. The continuing overrunning of Mexico certainly makes them understand our problems better. The Mayor of Tijuana with his Make Tijuana Great Again certainly seemed to capture the notion that we are not against the Mexicans, we ALL want our countries free again.

Possible, but where would they find people in Chicago to call it MAGA country? Are there even any Republicans in Chicago?

I’ll figure out something.... also since I am a veritable hermit, even if I wore a huge MAGA hat people would see it very seldom.

I'm thinking Q is waiting for something. Mueller report? SOTU? Congress to refuse to fund wall by Feb 15? Just saw this:

Democrats insisted for a month they were ready to negotiate on border security when government reopened. It’s been nearly a week and we have yet to see even one Dem compromise counteroffer to the multiple proposals from POTUS. This is not a negotiation—one side isn’t negotiating.— Mark Meadows (@RepMarkMeadows) January 30, 2019

These bills/laws are so diabolical. I hope that makes them red meat for our newly developing Supreme Court majority to strike down. These are now civil rights issues, not merely (merely!) abortion issues.

There are plenty of custom hat places that will put whatever you want on the hat of your choice. Have fun!

Gowdy has made several remarks criticizing Trump. He defends the “executive branch” when on clear legal ground. On Trump, the man, never. He was a Jeb guy! When Yeb! cratered, he moved to Rubio. Gag me.

That needs to change. It should change, given the Left is mercilessly communist inspired and Islam sympathizers. Gowdy better get a new preference in favor of Trump.

Otherwise, Gowdy is showing himself to be a NeverTrump guy.

he never mentioned the “MAGA country” stuff when he gave his first report to the cops. He “remembered” it in his followup interview with the CPD.

this place is doing a bang up job of reporting on this.

https://pjmedia.com/trending/shifting-stories-cloud-claims-of-alleged-hate-crime-attack-targeting-empire-actor-jussie-smollett/

https://twitter.com/RobElgasABC7 is a reporter and is doing a nice job of reporting on it.

The cops now have an “ear” witness. They have video. They have “persons” of interest...

This story is taking on a life its own and is getting better and weirder each minute.

Prayers Up. God uses whomever he chooses. No fears or worries about worthiness

Thank you greeneyes. I have not always followed Gods will. I confess great selfishness and willful disobedience. But I have received no less than Gods Grace at every turn. It sort of freaks me out.

It is time for me to acknowledge my shortcomings, but to also acknowledge that Gods will in my life keeps showing itself and must be done no matter what I think or do.

Hoping you understand. It’s like I’m this awfull person that keeps getting blessed.

> GOP House

Don’t blame the House. After all they passed the gun owners national reciprocity bill. All the good stuff died in the Senate.
